90-Day Order Outlook: GM and Nissan MY26 Cut-Offs
By Tim Cengel, Director, Procurement and Electrification
Manufacturers begin to approach MY26 close of ordering windows, and as of February 20, 2026, several important fleet models are either closing immediately or will reach cut-off within the next 90 days.
Nissan has accelerated deadlines on core sedan and SUV nameplates, while General Motors shows multiple compact SUVs, luxury units, and performance models closing as early as today. For fleets relying on these vehicles for 2026 replacements, this is a short planning window.
Below is a focused breakdown of vehicles requiring action between now and May 20, 2026.
Immediate Action: Nissan MY26 Orders
Nissan has moved several cut-off dates forward, significantly shortening ordering timelines.
Nissan MY26 Cut-Off Dates
| Model | MY26 Order Cut-Off | Change |
| Rogue (S Trim) | March 1, 2026 | Moved up from April 1 |
| Rogue (Non-S Trims) | March 1, 2026 | Moved up from May 1 |
| Altima | March 1, 2026 | Moved up from July 1 |
| Sentra | April 1, 2026 | Shifted from March 1 |
What this means:
Rogue and Altima orders must be finalized within days. Fleets that utilize these vehicles should prioritize ordering immediately.
Sentra offers slightly more runway but still falls within the next 45 days.
GM Models Closing Now (February 20, 2026)
Several General Motors MY26 order banks have closed.
Cut-Off: February 20, 2026
| Brand | Model | Notes |
| Chevrolet | Equinox | Compact SUV fleet staple |
| GMC | Terrain | Compact SUV counterpart |
| Buick | Envision | Cut-off previously extended |
| Chevrolet | Corvette | Specialty/performance |
| Cadillac | Optiq | EV luxury crossover |
For fleets standardizing on Equinox or Terrain, this is the final opportunity to secure MY26 production. Availability beyond today will depend on remaining allocation, if any.
GM Models Closing by Late March 2026
The next wave of cut-offs arrives within five weeks.
Cut-Off: March 27, 2026
| Brand | Model | Important Note |
| Cadillac | Lyriq | EV model |
| Cadillac | CT4 | Sedan |
| Chevrolet | Silverado LD Regular Cab | 8–9 month plant retooling gap expected |
| GMC | Sierra LD Regular Cab | 8–9 month plant retooling gap expected |
While Silverado and Sierra regular cabs technically close March 27, production interruptions tied to plant retooling mean availability could tighten. Fleets depending on these trucks should evaluate ordering timing.
Models Impacted by Plant Retooling (Already Closed)
Some truck configurations are no longer available for MY26 ordering:
- Chevrolet Silverado LD Double Cab — Closed
- GMC Sierra LD Double Cab — Closed
Both double cab configurations will be unavailable for approximately 13 months due to plant retooling. Fleets requiring these models will need to consider alternative configurations or model strategies.
Final Takeaway
The next 30–60 days represent a compressed window for several vehicles. Compact SUVs, Nissan sedans, and select GM truck configurations are the most time sensitive.
If these models are part of your 2026 replacement cycle, securing orders now will help avoid availability challenges this year. Proactive ordering remains the most effective way to protect fleet continuity and keep replacement schedules on track. If your fleet requires acquisition guidance, Union Leasing can help.
